My first gaming keyboard and i love it. The keyboard looks cool and its very comfortable. I'm gonna be honest: I bought this mechanical keyboard because I wanted one that had good feedback on the keys as well as a nice clacky sound when the keys were pressed. © 2020 Best Buy. The Vulcan 80 is the base model that offers keys backlit only in royal blue, and basic audio level control keys (mute, softer, louder). But what ROCCAT saves on features with Vulcan 80 is fortunately not missing in the workmanship. this keyboard is much better than the one that came with the pc originally. I love this keyboard! I am co-founder of this blog and am very interested in everything that has to do with technology, but I also like to play games. I hate all of the flashing lights and colors that included with EVERYTHING these days. Pretty nifty. Keys feel sturdy. Overall a good experience for now, and I'm concidering updrading to the Vulcan 121 later on. The ROCCAT Vulcan 80 offers everything a gamer needs without making the keyboard unnecessarily large. This is very high-quality, but ROCCAT saves on the braided cable, so that the Vulcan 80 only has a rubber sheath instead of sleeves for the 1.8 meter long USB connection cable. I like the fact you can also change the lighting on the keyboard. I like it because it's corded so you don't deal with any lag issues that you get from wireless keyboards. This is my first mechanical keyboard and I'm not ever going to go back. Of course, the ROCCAT Vulcan 80 retains the primary feature of the series: the Titan Switch Tactile push button. The mechanical keys are quick to bottom, with a solid, stable feel and a quiet click. Adjust the illumination brightness to one of ten levels from 100% down to 0% brightness using the key marked with a sun icon. i love the blue lights and the ability to change the lighting patterns through the swarm app is nice. My kid uses it for gaming and loves the speed of the keys. Not sure what caused it. FN+F1 = Lights fan from center out and then from outside to center. Stepping up to a higher numbered Vulcan model (100, 120, 121, 122) will get you more key illumination colors and customizability, additional keyboard multimedia controls, a brushed aluminum case, and for the 120s, a built-in wrist rest (none of which I miss). The keycaps take a little getting used to, but once you do they are quite nice to type on. it doesn't work completely until after you update the drivers fyi but afterwards its very responsive and has a nice solid feel to it. Love the key sound and feel without being overly loud. The default key backlight pattern as shipped, which I find annoying, is a constantly moving fan pattern of on-off blue backlit keys (FN + F1) and there's one other option, a constantly moving left-right pattern of on-off blue backlit keys (FN + F2). Similar to a firmer Gateron brown, they are pretty quit. Just the one color for illumination, but gives lots of options for different patterns - I just set it to stay on a low glow all the time. I got what I wanted and then some! BEST BUY, the BEST BUY logo, the tag design, and MY BEST BUY are trademarks of Best Buy and its affiliated companies. Good keyboard for beginners willing to learn how to program their gaming keyboard. I bought this for my 12 year son to use for his remote learning so he didn't have to use the laptop keyboard. This keyboard does the clacky-ness right- my fingers don't have to press hard and the noise that comes out of this thing isn't loud and obnoxious. All rights reserved. The keys still sounds nice but not so loud that it irritates or disturbs other people from extra noise so far. Down the road, he will likely use it for gaming and it should be able to handle any game he plays. We look forward to your message!
